Rituals Welcomes Ramadan with Velvet Oud

Atmosphere, not excess, designed for Ramadan moments

As Ramadan approaches, Rituals turns its focus to scent as a way of shaping atmosphere, memory, and gathering. The brand introduces Velvet Oud, a new fragrance collection designed for the season, drawing from ingredients and traditions long associated with hospitality and reflection in the Arab world.

Velvet Oud sits within Rituals’ private collection, positioned as a sensory layer that moves easily between personal ritual and shared space. The fragrance is built around oud, an ingredient deeply embedded in regional culture, valued for its warmth, depth, and ability to linger quietly in the background of daily life. Rather than overwhelming, the composition is balanced and composed, designed to feel present without excess.

The scent opens with saffron and soft citrus, introducing brightness before settling into a heart of rose. It then deepens into a base of oud, guaiac wood, and vanilla, creating a rounded finish that feels suited to evenings after iftar, intimate gatherings, and moments of pause at home. It is a fragrance designed to accompany the rhythm of Ramadan rather than compete with it.

Beyond personal fragrance, Rituals extends Velvet Oud into the home. A stone diffuser, presented with pink salt crystals and a refillable fragrance bottle, allows the intensity of scent to be adjusted depending on the space and occasion. With a lifespan of up to five months, it becomes part of the home rather than a temporary accent, adding a gentle layer to majlis settings and private rooms alike.

Gifting is central to the collection. The Velvet Oud gift set arrives pre wrapped, designed as a considered offering for hosts, family, or close friends during Ramadan and Eid. Inside, the selection brings together home fragrance and body care, including mini reed diffusers, foaming shower gel, hair and body mist, and a scented candle. It is positioned as a complete gesture rather than a single item, aligning with the season’s emphasis on generosity and shared moments.

Rituals has long framed beauty through the lens of daily practice, encouraging moments of intention within routine. With Velvet Oud, that philosophy feels particularly aligned with Ramadan. The collection is not about spectacle, but about creating spaces that feel welcoming, composed, and warm, whether for guests gathered in the evening or for quieter moments of reflection.

Available from February, Velvet Oud offers a refined way to mark the season through scent, blending personal care and home fragrance into a single, cohesive experience designed for the pace and mood of Ramadan.
